Live at Carnegie Hall
Their first album was recorded in just 6 days at the Egrem studios in Havana, and achieved worldwide success, selling over 8 million copies. Now, the Buena Vista Social Club is back in the shops with this double live CD, recorded at their concert at Carnegie Hall, New York. This concert was one of three filmed by Wim Wenders for what he calls his ‘musicmentary’, a film which gave a huge boost to the record’s profile. Relive the joy these veterans felt to be up on stage in that other capital of Latin music. Relive the sheer pleasure and intense emotion they shared with the audience that night. And also remember those who have passed away during the 10 years since that concert, Compay Segundo, Ruben Gonzalez and Ibrahim Ferrer, which makes this an even more important document, a testimony to a lost age.
